Dwayne was born and raised on the north side of Tulsa. Dwayne graduated from Booker T. Washington High School. Dwayne worked hard his freshman year of college and propelled himself towards the top of his freshman class. Over the next few years he would pursue nursing at one of Oklahoma's HBCUs.
During a clinical rotation at a local psychiatric hospital, he was introduced to counseling in the form of a psych group. He immediately was intrigued by the vulnerability, honesty, and healing aspects that were shared. Dwayne then pursued a counseling degree. The next 6 years he obtained his Bachelor's degree in Rehabilitation services, and a Master’s in Rehabilitation Counseling. He later received his LPC and began to work with adolescent males and their families who were involved in the juvenile justice system.
Dwayne continues to work with adolescent males and females, adults, and children to encourage them not to let their current situation define their outcome.
